Visual Editor Empowers Designers With AI Assistance
The startup’s latest addition, Visual Editor, allows designers to craft the visual aspects of web applications using AI. The tool functions as a “vibe-coding” interface, offering the same granular control expected from professional design software. Users can either make changes manually or leverage Cursor’s AI agent to implement modifications via natural-language instructions.
Expanding Beyond The Core Developer Audience
While Cursor’s core user base remains professional developers, the company aims to engage a broader range of creators involved in software development. “Developers don’t work alone—they collaborate with designers and other stakeholders. Cursor should be useful for anyone building software,” explains Ryo Lu, Cursor’s head of design.

Since its launch in 2023, Cursor has grown rapidly, surpassing $1 billion in annual recurring revenue and attracting clients such as Nvidia, Salesforce, and PwC. In November, the startup secured $2.3 billion in funding, bringing its valuation close to $30 billion.

In a demonstration at WIRED’s San Francisco office, Cursor showcased how Visual Editor could adjust webpage aesthetics seamlessly. Users can manipulate design elements such as fonts, buttons, menus, and backgrounds while issuing natural-language commands, which are applied directly to the underlying code.
Enhanced Feedback With Built-In Browser
Earlier this year, Cursor released its own web browser integrated into the coding environment. The browser allows designers and developers to test changes in real time, view user feedback, and access developer tools similar to Chrome, creating a smoother and faster development cycle.
